Mid-Autumn Festival in KB Mall

Celebration of Mid-Autumn festival in Kelantan, especially in KB mall was such a grand event. There are singing competition, Lantern-riddle competition, mooncake eating competition, Q and A session and lion dance show. I heard from my friends, it is a yearly event. Together with this event, all the passer-by, visitors and participants would have a chance to do some charity, tasting new flavor of mooncake, getting involve in the lantern-riddle competition and answer Questions from the stage and grab something home.

We would wanna try to answer some lantern-riddle, unfortunately we were a bit late as all the riddles were mostly being answered. As for me, I could not even read the Chinese characters written on the lantern. Hence, I gave up. Then, the Q&A session began, it was open to the floor. Guess what, I managed to pull the courage and answered one of the questions. YEAH~~ I grabbed a bag of goodies home!!

And then, we stay tuned to the next agenda of the celebration, mooncake eating competition. The rule for the competition is who finishes eating the whole mooncake in a shortest time wins. Then, the remark of the event was the lion dance.

Home Cook Lunch

Today, just like a normal weekend.
Chilling in my new house with my housemates.
Plus the day was so gloomy, it has been raining since morning.
A big bowl of hot soup with noodle,
Was my lunch of the day.

The ingredients for this bowl of soup,
Was the leftover from the steamboat,
Simple yet delicious
Satisfying our tummy.

Happy housewarming

It has been a week since I moved into my new room, my own space. Nice getting to know my two housemates. They are warmth and friendly, three of us are like sisters. Momo is like a big sister, while Kev is like my younger sister. I still remember that we have chatted through the night, and slept early in the morning, like around 7am~ In fact, this moment reminded me of my two former housemates in Adelaide, Tyng and Ever.

In my tradition, moving into a new house (which has previously been abandon for awhile) should throw a housewarming ceremony, it is just a tradition, in order to make the house more merrier. After few days planning, finally my housemates and I decided to do steamboat in my house.

Shopping for ingredients and preparing the steamboat is essential for me, as I would like to take this opportunity to thanks my ex-housemates.

Abandon Blog has came back to life

To those who are following my blog, today (30th Aug) will be my blog reviving date, after so long~

At the moment, I am surviving in Kelantan, to be exact location, Kubang Kerian. A small town meant for university students. They called this town as newly developed student town. It has only one main road. The place is small, but it has a big MYDIN, two stretches of shop-blocks. The main thing about this place is, all the shops are compact and meets the necessity of a student. There are few famous fast-food outlets here too, namely KFC (upon entering to Kubang Kerian) and Pizza Hut. Surprisingly, in such a small town, it has Secret Recipe, Ichiban, Ayamas and Tutti Frutti. This is considered luxurious enough for students.

I have already been here for the past 4 months, adaptation is not that bad. I am lucky to have a bunch of new and helpful friends, helping me getting used to the lifestyle in Kelantan. I still remember the first I stepped into Kubang Kerian was July 10th, I was required to attend the USM Fellowship Interview session in Health Campus (where I am now). Luckily, I have a place to crash in for a night. Thanks to Cath for allowing me to do so.

The distance from Penang to Kubang Kerian, is about 400km. But the road cutting through the Banjaran Titiwangsa is time consuming, 6 to 7 hours journey. The only bus from Penang to Kubang Kerian is Transnasional. Along the way, it is all GREEN. There are a few road signs along the way stated 'Beware of Trespassing Elephants". Along the East-West Highway, there is a largest man-made lake named Tasik Temenggor, it is so beautiful. There is also a lookout in the midway, which can see across to Thailand.

My official date of moving to Kubang Kerian was on July 21st. It has been inconvenience as I do not really have a place to stay just then, as the place I plan to rent was still under renovation. I was lucky to know Cath, she is the one allowing me to share her room for about a month. Until on 30th Aug, I managed to move into my own room.

What about work?

Have been working for almost 6 months now...

1st one month, nothing much, nothing less, basically read and read and read...

2nd month, I have been seconded from miRNA team to oncology team... A little confusion, a little conflict, but I did manage to get over it...

3rd month, have been busy and working on trial version of extended oncogene primers... Have been repeated one plate (384 wells) for 5 times before I could a good and satisfying results... Heaps and piles of things to update in daybook... At the same time... I have been a great tease in the office because I have repeated the same thing for 5 times, and another 100x for "human-error-self-claimed-mistakes" primers... I am really frustrated...

4th month, manage to get 2 weeks rest before another battle begins... at the same time, I have decided that to take up master degree, and hold a responsibility on the rubber project with USM, things still under negotiation until mid of this month...1st batch one 480 primers set arrived at our office... NIGHTMARE begins...

5th month, speeding things up, screening and screening for 5 plates in total for the 1st round, den, up to 1 plate for the second round... What we have got from GHENT was SUCKS!!! Re-synthesising teh primers and re-SCREEN AGAIN!!!

6th month, never ending with screening, rushing against time, both seniors are abroad, have to speed things up in order to get the results for their acknowledgement... I hate this month so much... after all have been done, we have to repeat again... FRUSTRATION!!!

WHY?

Case 1:
Today, I went out with my dear dear aka Baobei... I was looking forward to meet him, see him and be with him. The feeling is so intense that I wanna be with him so badly. But, I feel so scared because I know that he will be upset after meeting my parents. Its all because my parents dun really like him, and I know that.

Why it has to be like this? Instead for just making me in difficult position, they made him into difficult position too. He said "I do not feel like seeing your parents because they showed the face of not welcoming me in the house, I feel so anxious and scared whenever I saw your dad." He also asked me, if his mom showing faces to me, do I still wanna go to his place again and again or everyday?

I think twice, I understand how he feels. But How to mend this? What should I do so that my parents can accept him better? I dun wan him to be in a difficult position, this makes our relationship to be really tensed up. Instead of an happy outing, it becomes a miserable outing. What a torture it is?

I just wanna be with the guy I love, I do not mind all this difficulty... But this not only me in the position, it involved him as well. Am I being unfair to him for dragging him into such position?

Am I being so selfish? Why it has to be like diz??? I do not understand... why my parents have to do all this? Why cant they understand how to respect other's people feeling and accept the person as he is??? Dont they know that this will make their daughter in a very difficult position and it is very hard for her as well as for the person she loves the most? Dont they know that this will make their daughter hate them even more?? WHY???

Case 2:
I told my parents about him getting into interviews, and that they also never show that they are happy for him. Do my parents really hate him? Even his mom knows how to concern about me, why my parents cant do that?

The conversation between me and his mum altho is less, but at least his mom accept me and knows how to concern about me. But why my parents cant be the same? I really wish that my parents can do the same, so it wont be so difficult for me and also him.

All this while I thought that as long as he gets to be interviewed, then, my parents will be happy for him too. But I was wrong, completely wrong. But I will never give up, I still will hope for the day he gets a job, I am praying really hard for him so that by this, my parents will accept him better than now. I am wishing really hard. I know my parents want me to have a good life in future, married to a guy who can support me and give me happiness and stability. I have faith my dear can do that, I have faith in him, But why cant my parents have the same faith?

He is just graduated, finding jobs isnt easy. If things do not come your way, it never will... but if it does, it gonna be very smooth and easy. I have faith that he will be a successful guy in future. How do I know, I would say it is instinct. I trust him as well as my instinct.

But why, yet my prayers arent answered? Am I not spiritual enough? Why my parents cant accept him??? WHY?? WHY god doesnt wanna grant him a job???

Case 3:
Why my life has to be so many rocky paths and obstacles?
Why it cant be an easy going path like other?
Why I cant be with the guy I love?
Why my parents cant accept him and respect him and be happy that I have him?
Why everything I have to fight for it?
Why ???

Sob sobs!!! Nobody is there for me, he is lost himself... I am all alone in this. What should I do?

My last chance ~~

I look up to the sky today, things that happened yesterday still fresh in my mind, tears in my eyes, had dried up... "Its a brand new day, yesterday was a dream perhaps a nightmare" I told myself. But I know, whatever has happened, it did happen for a reason.

Perhaps, I am not a good/perfect person after-all... after all the thoughts, perhaps I have given people a false impression of me. I do not know... I look strong from the outside, but I am a weak, a failure inside... Things will never change, indeed in front of other people that I am weak... I cant show that... I kept telling myself... I have to be strong, BUT I cant!!!

I look up the rising sun when I drove to work... the sun is bright and round, slightly covered with fluffy clouds, I took some fresh air on the Penang Bridge. I told myself... "Whatever I have promised, I must keep it and not waste it"

It sounds so great, but I know what happened yesterday letting me know that to fall in love is easy, but to maintain a relationship takes time and effort. Being loved is such a good feeling, also, easily lead to taking things for granted. I have told myself " I wont take things for granted, but to work hard in a relationship"

I admit, yes... I do take things for granted, I did empty promises. But, I learn and I will never do that again.

I told to myself sternly today "I love him, I always will, I always do and put in all the effort so that he will never have a chance to say he wanna leave me again, I hope not..." But in my heart, to certain extend that he gonna leave me... somehow if he does and no more another chance will be given to me... THIS IS MY LAST CHANCE!!!
